Christmas Day

Christmas Day was wonderful!! Matt and I decided last year that we would not leave the house until we went to my grandmother's around 4:30. So with that being decided we gave our parents a time to come to our house, see what Santa left Mati and Reed, enjoy breakfast, and exchange presents with us. This works well for us because we get to stay home and the children get to enjoy their things from Santa! This is a picture of Mati and Reed right before they walked in the den to see what Santa left!

Reed with his truck and Mati with her Hannah wig and microphone.
The next pictures are of Mati and Reed with their particial built swingset. They loved it!

Gemma took all the tractors out of the box for Reed to play with!
I had to post this picture of Reed. This highchair that he sits in at Grandmother's was mine when I was a little girl.

Waiting for Santa

Christmas Eve night Mati was so excited about Santa coming! We were trying to settle in and she quickly reminded us that we needed to put out cookies and milk for Santa. Then she wanted to write him a letter. Finally she said that she would settle in to bed if I would take her picture in front of the fireplace with the milk and cookies.

Christmas with the Shirley family

On the 23rd we went to Daddy's for the annual 'Shirley Christmas'. Nannie was just a hoot laughing and talking with Mati and Reed. We missed Lenna, Jessie and Clara! We had a great visit with Georgia. Of course, she always does too much for us. Daddy and Bob pose for a picture with Nannie!

A 'New' Family Tradition

Last weekend we had the best time seeing the Christmas lights at a nearby park. During the event we were able to go to a petting zoo, see a live nativity, and ride in a horse-drawn wagon around the park to look at the beautiful lights. We had so much fun. I told Matt that this is a new Christmas family tradition!

Parade Time

Today, Mati rode in her first Christmas parade in Abbeville. She had so much fun throwing candy to everyone. The Grinch was at the parade. I tried to get Mati to get her picture made with him but she wouldn't have anything to do with him. Later she told me should could not talk to that Grinch because he stole Christmas.

Mati and Molly had a great time on the float!

Last Friday we went to the parade in town. As I was leaving school I had everything planned out perfectly. I would go home, get Mati and Reed a little snack, get the stroller loaded, and pick mom up. Well when I got home Reed was still asleep, Mati was grumpy, and the stroller was in the back of the other car. BUT with Grami's help we made it up to the parade and the town Christmas Tree Lighting. Reed finally woke up and let me take a picture of him. Mati and Ashton had a great time singing carols around the Christmas tree!

Mati and Reed had fun at the parade gathering candy with Grami.
